Women’s Long Drive Champ Featured at Fayette Cares Golf Tournament

The list of impressive features grows as organizers plan the annual Fayette Cares charity golf tournament rescheduled for Thursday, May 3rd at Fair Oaks Golf Club in Oakland, TN.

Registrants have always enjoyed great golf, meals, drinks, and prizes at the event.  Then the charity announced the addition of FREE golf clinics every Friday through April 13th at Fair Oaks with PGA Professional Bruno Strzalka.  As if that weren’t enough, the event now offers a tournament-day golf clinic with four time International Long Drive Champion Heather LeMaster Manfredda.  But wait, there’s more!  Heather will drive the ball 300+ yards for players.  Those who hole out from her drive win a $5,000 trip for two to Pebble Beach.

Players will enjoy meeting Heather whose passion for golf began at a young age. Swinging a cut down driver built by her uncle she would hit balls from the back yard to the pasture. “I loved chasing the ball back and forth and keeping it away from our herd of dogs,” says Heather.   She started junior tournaments during High School and in her Senior year dropped her handicap from a 7 to a plus 2.  In college she helped her team make their mark in the Sacramento State history taking them to regionals after winning the Big Sky Conference Championship in Arizona.  After college Heather continued playing competitive amateur golf, qualifying for the US Women’s Amateur Championships. In 2013 Heather won the Re/Max World Long Drive Championships with a booming drive of 306 yards. Heather also has four International wins including two in Mexico, one in the Dominican Republic and one in Sweden.

Donations and sponsorships drive the charitable event, with a growing list of sponsors including Title Sponsor Ring Container Technologies, Gold Sponsor Memphis Contract Packaging, Silver Sponsor Waste Connections, Inc., Bronze Sponsor Absolute Comfort Heating and Air Conditioning LLC, Venue Host Fair Oaks Golf Club, Meal Sponsors BancorpSouth and the Clubhouse Restaurant at Fair Oaks, Door Prize Sponsor State Farm Insurance, and Event Supporters Oakland Donuts, Central Distributors, David Kelley Jewelers, and The Fayette Falcon. Sponsorship opportunities are available and help raise money to provide shelter for homeless families, intervention for victims of domestic violence, and emergency assistance for those in financial crisis.

The tournament is an amazing value that allows golfers to feel great about their charitable support of the life-changing services provided by Fayette Cares.  Free Friday golf clinic space is limited and open to Team Captains with a registered tournament foursome.   To register, sponsor, donate, or learn more visit FayetteCares.org/golf or call (901) 465-3802 x 223.
