Oakland Plant Sale Fundraiser Fights Homelessness, Domestic Violence and Financial Crisis

Every April, Fayette Cares helps individuals get ready for the planting season while also supporting those in need within our community. The 25th Annual Fayette Cares Plant Sale will be held April 8 at First Citizens National Bank in Oakland. Event proceeds change lives by helping Fayette Cares provide shelter for the homeless, safety for victims of domestic violence, and crisis intervention for families in financial distress (including food, clothing, rent/utility aid, and training).

A full selection of products will be available on April 8th at the event to help individuals and businesses replenish current gardens or start a new landscaping project. Familiar and unique plants galore, the plant sale is a fun-filled event for the entire family. Shoppers can peruse annuals, perennials, vegetable and more, watch demonstrations, talk with local plant experts, consult master gardeners, and contribute to a great cause. The event also features a Free Kids Zone complete with a children’s flower planting station, coloring contest, and bounce house.

This event could not be possible without the local nurseries and organizations that support Fayette Cares’ cause. Vendors include Willow Oaks Flower Farm, Lucerne Farms, Country Gardens, Gardens Oy Vey, Backermann’s Country Market, and Kindred Spirit Style boutique.  Concessions will be available thanks to Somerville Rotary Club and Paws Ice Cream Truck.

Plant sale shoppers will support fighting homelessness, domestic violence and crisis when they buy plants. Help charity bloom at the 25th Annual Fayette Cares Plant Sale! Learn more at www.fayettecares.org/plants or call (901) 465-3802 x 223.  Fayette Cares is a United Way agency.
