My name is Tamara Davis. Today I am a Fayette Cares executive board member but I was once a client.
I had no home, no job, and nowhere to turn. My son’s father had abandoned us. When a friend told me about Fayette Cares, my pride said “I’m not going to some dirty shelter.” But I had a 2-year old son and we were at a dead end.
Not only was I wrong about the shelter but Fayette Cares helped me see the road ahead so I could get back on my feet. They helped me rise above the abuse that haunted me; the trauma of nearly being murdered by a man who once said he loved me. If it had not been for Fayette Cares I honestly don’t know where I would be today.
For more than three decades Fayette Cares has changed thousands of lives, including mine. This has inspired me to get involved and it’s why I love being of service. I thank God for Fayette Cares and I’m sure I speak for every client ever helped when I say, we all appreciate your efforts and THANK YOU for supporting the mission. Your time, money, and commitment to this great organization has an amazing impact.
