“Thank you for the food. Fayette Cares kept us from being hungry.” Shirley expresses her gratitude for the aid made possible by donations to the Fayette Cares food pantry.

 

Shirley represents the 10% of Americans who must make a painful decision - whether to pay for rent, utilities and medicine or to eat. Every year Fayette Cares provides over 18,000 meals to families who find themselves in this situation.

 

The Fayette Cares food pantry, primarily supplied by community donations of non-perishable food, helps families recover from house fires, natural disasters, financial crises, and other tragedies.

 

Through partnerships with local grocers and national hunger relief agencies, Fayette Cares is able to make the most of every dollar donated. For example, at your local grocer you can purchase one case of beef stew for $25 but Fayette Cares uses your $25 gift to purchases five cases of beef stew from the Mid-South Food Bank. 

 

Caring supporters who donate during the March and April Hunger Relief Challenge and at Christmas time, also know that hunger is a year-round problem.
