Replacing Roadblocks with Opportunities
Without transportation struggling families have very limited options and opportunities. In our community you can’t just hop a bus or call an Uber to get to work, school, the grocery store, or Dr.’s office. If you’re lucky you have a friend or relative with a reliable car who might take you where you need to go, for a price.
Several supporters have generously donated cars to knock down this road block to stability. Let’s be clear, they weren’t looking for a place to dump a junk heap (although we’ve had donors scrap cars and donate the cash). These caring donors put reliable vehicles into the hands of deserving families. Now there’s no stopping these families from getting a great job across town. They can even drive to the grocery store for healthy foods instead of walking to the convenience shop and settling for a selection of unhealthy snacks.
With these special gifts they’ll be putting their past limitations in the rearview mirror and focusing on the opportunities ahead.
