Many were saddened and concerned when a local feeding program closed. Fayette Cares responded by helping struggling families identify and access hunger relief services.
Fayette Cares works in unison with nearly a dozen partners so that when families are helped at the Fayette Cares emergency food pantry they are also linked to programs that offer weekly, monthly, or quarterly aid for long-term support.
Our weekly partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank allows us to collect and distribute donated food from Walmart. We then deliver fresh produce and other items to local housing programs that serve low-income, senior, and disabled populations.
We’re also seeing great success with the Little Free Pantry (LFP) in Oakland, which makes food accessible any time, day or night. It’s a joy to see that others have followed suit and are building LFP’s throughout the county!
The Fayette Cares emergency pantry is supplying food to a growing number of people. The demand is great so pantry shelves are growing bare and we need your help. Click to learn how you can replenish pantry supplies or start a food collection to assure hunger relief remains within reach.
